Busy, Busy
Not much on the decluttering front…one frayed, dirty, smell, torn dog toy. I’m really glad we held onto that, I’ll spare you from the photo. That one can go in the garbage as I can’t think of a single dog who could make further use of it. Most everything else that is going is able to be donated…as soon as I get it there.
Bellydancing tonight! There aren’t many classes left before the summer session is over and I’m looking forward to my fall Term class. The classes are over an hour long and the class size is small. I’m excited because we’re going to be learning choreography with a veil!! I’ve also bought some new workout wear for class…I’ve decluttered enough to make room…I think.

Waiting …. Room …
Ugh. MC’s vaccines were today. We’re late as we couldn’t get an appointment when he was a year because our doctor had been quite ill. So after waiting for an hour we know now that he is growing well and developmentally is coming along just fine.
And then they poked him with sharp things. At least I didn’t cry this time. He was quite a trooper after waiting in the waiting room for over an hour and survived his exam quite well. Poor kid.
So no decluttering for me today. I will be making it up tomorrow.

Our Toothless Wonder
We’re home from our traumatic day with the dental vet.
As we expected Maca had to have all of her teeth removed. She had a lot of bone loss in her mouth, accompanied by lots of inflammation. After 2 hours he was done, which was about half as long as he had estimated it would take.
And now we wait. The problem with the stomatitis is that they have absolutely no idea what the cause is. As the vet said any guessing is merely grasping at straws, and the current grasping leads to the extreme measures of the full tooth removal. I really hope that we’re one of the ones this surgery works for, I’d hate to have put her through all of this for nothing.
She’s resting comforably now, her face is numb from the nerve blockers and she is high on codeine.

Goodmorning Sun, Happy Morning Everyone
Dear MC,
Your mommy is not a morning person. Up until now you have obliged me by sleeping in, I appreciate this. So if you could please explain what is going on right now I’d really like to know how we can go back to our 8am sleep in.
And I can hear you in my room through the monitor, there is really no need to shout PUPPY PUPPY PUPPY at high decibels. Trust me, I know you are there.
If you’re going to wake up early, you can help me out by being in a good mood. Feel free to leave the cranky self behind. If you really must be cranky please feel free to make me my coffee in the morning, it’s not hard…daddy will show you.

Ideas and Tips Galore

I just realized my father in law occasionally stops by to read, so if you are reading today…stop…this isn’t the blog you’re looking for. 
There’s a great blog that I just discovered recently, chock full of tips and this month she’s doing some giveaways. The Tip Junkie is exactly as it sounds, she’s got a blog full of some great ideas from readers and other bloggers.
One of the tips that caught my attentions was this great gift idea from a bride to be named Laura. I am going to attempt to make these for MC’s grandparents for Grandparent’s Day. Please note I said “attempt” so that I don’t actually have to provide a finished project. I’m reading how easy peasy it is and I’m pretty sure positive that I will find a way to make this the most difficult project ever. Trust me, I can…don’t challenge me.
We are all stuck inside laying about like a herd of seals as it is too hot to exist. It’s quite thick and soupy muggy out there and I’m enjoying my a/c today.

Light My Fire!
The Gas Man came and hooked us up. I was surprised at how quickly he managed to get the line done and hooked up and tested. And thanks to him…we have fire. I made some scrambled eggs for lunch for MC and me…Gordon Ramsay style…sort of. We can’t find creme fraise around here we have to go to the next town. Going from an electric range to gas will be interesting I`m sure, the heat is of course instant and so nice and even! I`m sure there will be some burnt meals as we adjust to the speed of FIRE!
According to the `directons`say this is where the pot goes and fire comes out. Ooooooo
And these are the buttons I push to make the box hot. Rumour has it you can do something called `baking`.

Dust Bunnies Beware…This Is War!
Well, it was time. Long overdue in fact. It was time to face the horrors beneath the couch.
I pulled out my trusty Dyson Animal (love) and began manhandling the love seat out of the way before realizing that first I would have to put the dogs away before Flash took offense to the presence of said vacuum. I’m not quite sure why he thinks the vacuum cleaner needs to be taken down but he does. Growling, pouncing and snapping at it with fury! So off they go.
And can I just say ew. Ew. Apparently there was some pop spilled under the couch, by me no doubt…well wait. Flash has a habit of tipping cans over while trying to get to my tea or coffee mug…so maybe he did it. Yes, let’s blame the dog.
So high five to me. Vacuumed and mopped under both sofas.
This has nothing to do with the fact we’re having company on Saturday…pinky swear. It may have something to do with the dusting and wiping and general running around I’ve been doing.
I’ve learned that there’s nothing to kick your ass into gear like inviting people to your home, especially when that company includes a baby…a crawling baby. These little visitor seem to have a knack for finding every stray ball of fur in my house every. single. time.
So my little dust bunnies, my vacuum, my dusters and my pink micro-fibre cloth mock you. Yes, I said MOCK.
And for your amusement, I’ve apparently spelt vacuum wrong for this whole post. I hate that word. Vacume, vacuume…all wrong.

KABOOM!
A few things to touch on today. First, I got to see my sister on Sunday…she looked really good. I know she’s got some bumps and bruises but really, she looked good…in spite of her new hardware. Hopefully she will be up for us to visit again. We went for Sunday dinner in the hospital cafeteria and had Swiss Chalet, I’ve never seen a Swiss Chalet in a hospital before. She did really well sitting until her meds ran out, I just hope she didn’t over do it.
We also finished our planter box on Saturday and we planted our new herb garden. I re homed the potted rosemary tree into the box as well as two of each of the smaller potted herbs we bought. So we now have fresh thyme, basil, sage, flat leaf parsley and oregano at our fingertips. We still have loads of room which I plan on filling with some tomatoes.
And finally the reason there are no pictures of our new box is because we’ve been having some pretty severe weather. We’ve had thunderstorms for the past three days, a few torrential downpours mixed in. I was worried about the herbs but apparently they’re quite a bit sturdier than I thought. We’re still expecting more thunderstorms over the next few days so I’ll do my best to get pictures when the sun is shining again.

It Can Only Get Better, Right?
Monday I had a migraine so I couldn’t function. They usually lay me out for the first 10-12 hours and Advil Migraine Capsules usually allow me to be able to semi function after that. We didn’t have any. No functioning.
Tuesday morning I got that phone call. You know that one, the one that leaves you with your stomach in knots and a huge lump in your throat that makes it impossible to speak coherently? My sister and her husband were in a car accident. All my dad could tell me was that Ed would be okay, a few broken ribs but Julie was badly injured. Scott called and found out that she had a fractured skull, broken pelvis, a few broken ribs as well as the usual minor injuries associated with an accident.
Currently she’s in ICU after spending yesterday being fitted with a halo. I haven’t seen her yet, perhaps when I do I’ll be able sleep better.
I felt so badly for Ed, he has none of his immediate family here…but I know most of our family has gone into see him and he was released today. The poor guy had no idea what was going on, and I can only imagine how awful that would be. Never mind that he had no privacy since he was kept in the emergency room as there were no rooms available.
I’m not sure when she’ll be up to a visit from me, so I’ll just wait.

Oops
Sorry for the break there! I can’t believe it’s been a week since I wrote here. In my defense we did have a long weekend last weekend and we got busy doing some much needed home projects.
The garage got tidied a bit. We’ve got 9 bags of actual garbage ready to go, as well as two boxes of stuff for the reuse centre. We also cut our lumber to make a cedar planter box. However we ran out of time since we actually expected the weather forecast to be correct (an obvious error on our part) so it’s in the garage waiting to be put together and put in the yard so that we can start planting. Right now we’re thinking some herbs and maybe a few veggies.
I think MC is getting more teeth. He is cranky and spent most of this morning alternating between hitting me, the dogs, and the walls. Fun times. I’m guessing these are the back molars since he’s got all the rest already. His shirt is soaked from drooling so much and he’s constantly chewing on whatever toy he happens to be playing with. The best though is the complete refusal of food…not even juice. I’m not sure how long this is going to last but if he follows his past routines we’re looking at a couple of weeks and since he usually gets two teeth at once this should suck, royally.
Waiting and waiting for the weather to be nice so we can go hang outside again…It’s been cold and wet for a few days now. I guess that’s spring though.
