Getting a Handle On It
With all the decluttering I completely forgot about the new handles we bought for the kitchen cupboards. I remembered them today because I was noticing how nice they looked and how much better it would look if I actually finished putting the last 10 handles in.
So here’s the easiest way to give yourself a bit of a lift in the kitchen….not cheap, I didn’t say cheap…I said EASY. Here’s what we started with…
Old and Cheap
Those are probably the cheapest ones available, that would be the joy of living in a mass produced residential community. They also weren’t really our style anymore. So we decided to go with….
New and Not So Cheap
A touch more modern and definitely feels sturdier. At $5 per handle and 26 handles needed a small touch in the kitchen definitely adds up but totally worth it.
Now if I could just get the darn kitchen painted by those handy little elves that make shoes I’d be all set!

Hip To Be Square…
I bought some new cube shelves yesterday for Scott’s whiskey collection, and I had hoped there would be enough for our WoW Series 1 figures (not dolls, don’t call them dolls).
So, I’ve learned a few things today. I really, really, really HATE plastic drywall plugs. They never work properly for me. I swear the package we have doesn’t have the right size screws, far too short and they just fell out of the wall. Second thing I learned…I really like power tools…especially drills. I also learned that sometimes measuring twice doesn’t help at all. Remember…levels are your friend.
So after some swearing and bruising (yes I’ve got bruises and scrapes from putting up CUBE SHELVES, and no I do NOT want to talk about it) our new shelves…
So there it is, one nice clean way to show off your collection. And cheap too. These particular shelves were 50% off at a lovely $7.99 at Kitchen Stuff Plus. And you see that hole in the above picture? One of the sources of my frustration today, which resulted in a broken cube shelf…again…don’t ask.

Finally!
I’ve finally found my new fringe…so I’ve got pictures as promised.
Here’s my initial colour pallet.
The two fabrics were found while on a shopping expedition. I had no idea what I would be doing with them until now. Very proud that I got everything on sale. The fabrics were end pieces. And I’ve just discovered the joy of fringe, which I needed rather desperately since I sewed my valance crooked and I needed to disguise that. The fringe was half price!! And I bought two spools of ribbon (ON SALE) just in case I end up needing some.
The paint…well if it’s not on sale…oh well. I think I’ve done pretty well for my first full room.
And since I know you want to see my crooked valance…here ya go…just be nice 
I will endeavor to get my pictures of the new bathroom products up next week. I want to gussy them up a bit for you.
