Laying It All Out
My plot that is.
After some more fiddling with yWriter I’ve found that I can actually use it to lay out my plot…or outline…that’s what the label is in yWriter. After I add the chapters I want, I can put in a brief description so that I can easily see what each one is about. Then to each chapter I can add scenes, as many or as few as I want. Each scene has several things you can do, add locations, characters, who’s point of view you’re writing in…very handy stuff.
So how did this solve my need for paper? Once you’ve got your scenes worked out you can print them out into a card format. Love this feature.
Now that I have my basic scenes worked out I think I need to beef them up with a good sub plot. Before I even do that I need to finish rounding out the rest of my cast. Which I definitely feel up for now….so I’m off for outline and plot revisions…huzzah.

NaNoWriMo Insanity Is Creeping In…
Well here we are. Twelve days until NaNoWriMo, and I’m getting sucked in slowly but surely. I was having a problem getting my enthusiasm up and I wasn’t terribly enamoured with my plot. I stuck with it though and slogged through the vague ideas I had and I’m finally now able to work out a plot line.
The character’s details always come after the for me. I find that once I get my plot all lined up I choose someone to follow, the plot for me is what gives my characters a voice.
So today I’m trying to continue work on my plot line. I’m tired of wading through my messy, hand scrawled notes. While I enjoy having sheets of paper to handle, I prefer to have them typed up and easier to read…never mind that you can fit more on one sheet. So now, I just have to figure out the best way for me to type out my time line so that I have some direction….which will come in handy around word 23, 452 when I start denting the wall with my head and wonder why the heck I do this to myself.
So…what do you do with your plot? How do you keep track of who does what and where they do it? Do you need paper to handle, places to scribble in extra notes? Tell me all about it!

Playroom Re-Org Part One
I moved some things around the play room. I realize this doesn’t help you much as I’m not posting any pictures….but I’m telling you anyway. LOL
The upside is the room looks bigger. The downside, I now need to find new homes for a bunch of knick knacks and books in the corner shelf because it is going. I need that spot for the easel.
Another upside is I’ve now found a place to practice with my veil without worrying about dogs or cats pouncing on me.
I’ll post some pictures when I’ve got everything where I want it.
And no, I haven’t touched any of Scott’s computer gear. Not even a single extra cable…pinky swears.

Step By Step….Then Shimmy
We finished our choreography for Princess of Cairo as Joharah has replaced some of the music with some drum music…which I suspect we’ll be learning next week.
As always learning the new steps has left me slightly perplexed, which I find amazing since there’s really only two things I need to worry about…my right foot and my left foot. So more practice is in order until I get the steps. I’d try to explain it, but I cannot fathom how on earth to write it down.
So for this week I will be practicing two things. First, my basic arabic with a pelvic undulation. I must work on remembering to use my heel for better balance. And second, I really need to loosen up my shimmy.
Working with the veil is getting easier and I think if I just keep up with my practice, all should go well.

Where, oh where did I put it???
I’ve looked high and low, in and out, up and down and I just can’t find it. I really, really need to find MC’s birth certificate and it is GONE.
We have a small metal box where we keep things like this, passports and the like and it isn’t in there. Which means I’ve taken it out at some time for some reason and put it somewhere.
So give me your ideas…where have you put important things?
*sigh* This is why I need to get myself organized.

Electrocuted…or Shimmy?
More bellydancing last night. I think we covered another minute of choreography, which would bring us up to three minutes! Because we’re learning so quickly our teacher has decided to tack some drum choreography to the end of Princess of Cairo! So excited!
We did some more veil work…it’s getting easier to dance with it but I’ve still got a lot of work to do! Practicing really paid off for me, I felt much better about the steps. Normally during class we’re split into two groups and one half watches while the other runs through the dance. During our dance time there were six of us…and after one minute there was four, which quickly dropped to three. Very distracting and I wish they would’ve just looked around and picked up where we were.
And we need to some work…apparently our shimmies are looking more like a tasered bellydancer rather than an elegant one! We’re also going to be drilling hip lifts next week…I sense some pain in my future.
I’m off to practice some shimmies on my own…no taser.

Sewing Room With a View?
I have several blogs I read daily, including a few on organizing. Today Laura at I’m an Organizing Junkie is asking about craft rooms. I’m getting heart palpitations just thinking about an entire room dedicated to my crafty bits and bobs. Sadly my reality just won’t allow that to be possible.
So where do I craft? My kitchen table. *dramatic sigh* While I do enjoy the ample space it allows me, it is rather a pain to put every single thing away when it comes to meal times. Never mind that I have to share this space with a certain little grey cat. There’s no door to close so I’m kind of stuck with having at least one feline helper. The dogs at least aren’t as helpful, but they are very good company.
My sewing supplies are kept in check because I only have one shelf…which is currently full of fabric so my sewing machine has found a permanent home at the end of the table we don’t use. My thread and other sewing notions are kept in a small two layer box with separated areas.
It doesn’t look like I’ll be getting a dedicated crafty corner anytime soon since our house is just too small so this will have to do for now. The good thing about sewing in the kitchen is it is the brightest and sunniest room in the house!
Do you have a dedicated crafting room? How about an area? Or are you like me and my very tiny crafting area? Tell me about your space and drop buy Laura’s blog and maybe she can help us all figure it out!
